What I really loved about Emma and Tony’s wedding was the love in the air I could feel everywhere., the Energy between them and the huge amount of happiness I felt part of.
I met Emma and Tony last winter to talk the first time about their wedding day, the 14th of August 2011. They were going toh ave a jeweish wedding which was the first time for me shooting one of that kind.I was very excited and I fall in love with Emma personality straight away: she had very clear in mind what she wanted and how she wanted her wedding to be, which made it easier for me.The wedding included 300 guests so I asked my friend and very good photographer Simon to be my second shooter on the day, I was of course with the bride from the beginning and he was following the groom and his men long the day.

I went at Emma’s house in Birmigham to get some shots of her getting ready: all the girls were already there, but was Poling, her best friend, to help Emma in wearing her stunning dress from Jenny Packam. Her curly hair only held by a white flower with pearls and sparkling jewellery in the middle. Very classy. Emma got herself ready and when Rosalind saw her for he first time she stopped by the door and a proud smile appeared on her face. After Rosalind was Val, Tony’s mum, almost moved in seeing the bride for the first time; she gave her a hug and the envelope with a letter written by Tony for her “Almost wife”!

Emma sat on the chair and read his future husband letter with a smile on her face…I still remember when I read the letter from my “almost husband”: suddenly everything felt so real…We took some lovely pictures in the garden with Emma’s bridesmaids- Poling, Laura and Samantha e then with herparents, Rosalind and Richard and her broche Jamie.

When the car arrived I found out was the same car that Richard and Rosalind used on their wedding day, 30 years before and the name of the car was “Emma”!! Another important person on the day was Boobie, Emma’s nana, who was wearing an elegant black hat and flowery black and white dress on the day.
One of the traditional moment of a jeweish wedding is the Badeken, when the groom has to check if under the veil there the right bride, the one he has chosen to marry on the day.
Tony when to check Emma after one week when they haven’t seen each other as tradition. Emma and Tony decided to get married under a huge oak tree at the Bothanical Gardens in Birmigham, and A traditional Jewish wedding ceremony takes always place under a Chuppah or wedding canopy.

The Ceremony was moving and interesting for me as full of traditional symbol like Emma walking around Tony 7 times when she joined him at the Chuppa, the “Mazek tov “ when Tony had to break a glass, crushing it with his right foot, and the guests were all shouting: Good luck in Jeweish.
After the ceremony me and Simon went to take some romantic portraits of the new bride and groom in their favourite place: the rock garden with the pond in the middle was the perfect background for our photos.

But my favourite part of the day was the evening, I’ve never seen so much dancing in any of the weddings I photographed!!! It was such a great night and the most fantastic thing was the every guest was dancing and having fun with the bride and groom. We also had Richard, Rosalind, Val and Kelvin singing to Emma and Tony, dancing together and there was a moment where I found myself dancing and taking pictures at the same time!!

At one point I remember seeing Juliette bringing baby Scarlett on the dancefloor and having her dancing between herself and Emma, Jamie dancing around with Emma, Tony was through in the air by his men, Kelving holded up Val in the hair and started dancing un and down, Richard and Rosalin having fun, it was so much entertaining!!! I loved it!
I loved seeing everbody so happy and free to enjoy themselves, I still feel the same energy every time I go through all the pictures taken on the day.
I just want to say thank you to Emma and Tony for the unforgettable experience I had on the day of their wedding, wishing them all the best for their future together: a couple that started their story being friends for 10 years first and then ended up husband and wife, so so so in love with each other.
